The Fierce Love of God

We have seen the epic drama of an angry dragon making war on the people of God in a last ditch effort to cause damage to the plan of God.  While the victory of God is assured, God still has to watch His people endure the threats of the dragon. How will God respond when His people are threatened? How will He display His love to them?

Church – The Bad

As Jesus continues to share insights with the churches of Asia we find that there are a group of churches seem to be holding on to the faith, but for some reason Jesus also has found something deeply concerning amongst them.  This week Pastor Joe unpack what Jesus finds concerning in the church and how we might be on the verge of embracing this concerning trend.

The Wise Friend

We all know the joy of being able to do life with others… the joy of friends. But what is it about friendship that we value so much?  Student Intern Dan Roberts takes us through God’s wisdom for friendship, highlighting why God created us for each other and how we can best express true friendship.

Wisdom for our Words

Something went wrong with the recording for this sermon. The pastor’s notes are as follows: “Words of Wisdom” Sunday 17th September 2017 Rosalie 9:30am You would have to be living under a rock to be unaware of the current debates that are ongoing in our nation concerning marriage, religion, gender, and sexuality.  One of the flow on effects from this debate has been broader conversation about freedom of speech… The thought that all people should be free to express their…

Alan Stanley: Do you get love?

We can be the most on point people when it comes to the practices of our faith, bible reading, church attendance, ministry involvement, and yet still completely miss the point of what following Jesus is all about.  Alan Stanley from BST takes us through how we can be so blind to the primary call of Jesus on our lives.

On Being Wise

Our series on Wisdom Literature is called “Every Good Path” but if you asked our generation for wisdom they might say, “Every path is good.”  It might seem like this relativism sets people free and makes life easier because there are now so many options when it comes to what is right. But instead all these options have made us the most confused generation of all time. More than ever we need to know what it means to be wise…

Unnatural Love

Followers of Christ are to be defined by their characteristic behaviour of loving enemies and doing good to others without expecting anything in return. As Christians we need to be living the life that Jesus calls us to. This sermon helps to show us what that looks like, what it doesn’t look like, and exactly why we need to be doing that.

The Community that Clings to Jesus

As the preacher concludes his sermon it seems as though he is just spraying out a whole bunch of rules or laws that he expects the people to embrace. But we have to remember his overarching passion to call the people to cling to Jesus. Because these rules and laws are not a regime of regulations being enforced on the people, but they are ways in which the community of faith can help one another cling to Jesus.

Waiting for Love

This week we begin our Christmas series by looking at the book of Malachi. Malachi is the last book in the Old Testament and therefore the last prophetic voice before the coming of Jesus at the first Christmas and therefore gives us a unique look at why we needed Christmas. The week we start by looking at the fact that all of us are waiting to be loved by God. The love of God is one of the simplest of…

Jeremiah in the Epic Story of God

When God chose to reveal Himself and His workings in this world to us He did not choose to give a lecture, He chose to tell us a story!  This story is truly epic.  It is a story that covers everything that God has done to create, redeem & restore His people throughout thousands of years of history.  As we finish our look at Jeremiah we will see what role Jeremiah played in this epic story and what we can…
