Life on the Roller Coaster

In our lives we can move through the extremes of emotion relatively quickly… from the high heights to the lowest of lows… life is a roller coaster of emotion. As we continue to see the story of Exodus unfold, we will see how we often respond to the ups and downs of life and what we need to find some consistency amongst all the chaos.

The Call of Moses

We love stories of unlikely heroes. God’s people need a hero and we have seen how God raised up Moses to be such a saviour, but he is the most unlikely man to pull it off. A murderer, rejected by his people, and an exile in a foreign land. Even Moses doubts his credentials. But when God calls him, we see how our inadequacy means nothing to Him.

Robust Faith

Pharaoh has set himself up in opposition to God. The people are suffering under his heavy yoke of slavery and barbaric genocide. In the midst of this terrible situation, one family will demonstrate their faith in God and it leads to the one who would be their saviour. Pastor Joe examines new categories for us to understand our faith in light of how the characters in this story engage with their world.

In Defiance of God

In this epic opening chapter, Exodus shows us the main players in a battle that will rage for most of the book. It begins with a weigh-in between two contestants: Pharaoh, King of Egypt, and Yahweh, the God of the Hebrews. As the chapter unfolds, Pastor Joe will show us what it looks like when someone defies the living God.
