Jesus’ promised that he would build his Church and that the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. This promise fills us with confidence that Jesus’ mission in the world will succeed. But the reality is that Jesus’ definition of success does not mean that every single person will believe in him. There are many people in the world who oppose the gospel. In a world that is moving further away from Jesus, we have been called to continue spreading the fragrance of the gospel even to people who don’t seem interested in Jesus.
